About

Adam is an associate in the Planning and Compulsory Purchase team, having joined the firm in December 2025.

Adam has experience in advising both public and private sector clients including developers and local authorities on a broad spectrum of planning matters, including environmental law, highways agreements, and protective provisions. Adam has extensive experience negotiating planning agreements for affordable housing providers, local authorities, and developers. Notably, Adam assisted a public authority with a Transport and Works Act Order application, successfully managing a three-month public inquiry.

He has assisted with large scale due diligence, enabling multi-million-pound development and purchases to proceed. He brings a wealth of commercial knowledge to the team having also completed a secondment with a global retailer.

Adam was recognised as Plymouth’s Junior Lawyer of the Year (2024) and was highly commended in the National Junior Lawyer awards (2025).

Experience

  • Cambridgeshire County Council: Advising on their Transport and Works Act Order for a guided busway between Cambourne and Cambridge, including managing the 3-month public inquiry process.
  • Advising on nationally significant infrastructure projects including National Grid’s Yorkshire Green Energy Enablement Project.
  • Acting for multiple statutory undertakers in negotiating protective provisions to form part of development consent orders for various nationally significant infrastructure projects.
  • Assisted with planning due diligence for developers and purchasers on multi-million-pound deals across the UK.
  • Assisted developers, housebuilders, affordable housing providers and landowners in drafting and negotiating section 106 planning agreements, unilateral undertakings and section 106A deeds of variation for housing developments and mixed use sites.
