About

Adrian is head of our award-winning Employment team. He is recognised as a highly experienced and pragmatic employment lawyer and advises employers on the full range of employment law issues.

Advising FTSE 100 companies, global businesses, government departments and private companies, he provides strategic advice on major HR projects, such as restructuring and change management programmes, and manages high value employment claims, sensitive investigations and senior exits and appointments.

He also has particular experience of the TUPE and employment aspects of corporate transactions, outsourcing and other projects in both the private and public sectors, including strategic advice, contract negotiation and engagement with trade union and other employee representatives.

Adrian is an active member of the Employment Lawyers Association. He is a regular speaker and commentator on employment law issues and provides training to clients.

Experience

  • FTSE 100 defence and security group: Advising on the full range of employment law issues, including high profile restructuring programmes, senior executive exits, TUPE transfers, HR casework and managing employment tribunal claims.
  • Major retail group: Managing employment tribunals claims, advising on the TUPE and employment aspects of outsourcing and other commercial transactions, restructuring and advising on operational HR issues.
  • FTSE 250 engineering and services group: Advising on the full range of employment issues, including TUPE transfers and disputes, employment tribunal claims and trade union issues, including court action to prevent industrial action.
  • Public sector organisation: Advising on a complex whistleblowing claim involving issues of public law and appeals to the Employment Appeal Tribunal and Court of Appeal.
  • Central government departments: Advising on the TUPE and employment aspects of numerous major procurements and outsourcing arrangements involving large scale TUPE transfers (e.g. transfers of 3,000 employees).
  • Global manufacturing group: Advising on a UK factory closure involving c. 900 redundancies and the defence of collective age discrimination claims.
