Alix joined the firm in 2007 and is a highly experienced senior associate in the Real Estate team. She advises on a wide range of complex transactions and projects in different sectors, with particular specialisms in development, energy and infrastructure projects.
An eleven-month period of secondment at the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (and its private property holding company, NDA Properties Limited) gave her a strong focus on client service and commercialism which she utilises to serve clients in a practical and pragmatic way.
Alix has particular expertise in managing and advising on the intricacies of real estate issues that developers encounter in delivering Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, working closely with clients, agents and colleagues throughout the planning process.
She is known for her ability to develop strategies and innovative solutions to complex legal issues and ensure successful outcomes in complex and commercially sensitive transactions. She takes pride in maintaining commercial and technical excellence and a collaborative approach to managing multi-disciplinary teams delivering large-scale projects.
Experience
- Equinor: Advising on land strategies, interests and agreements and providing support on real estate issues relating to the promotion of a joint NSIP application for the 9.5MW Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon Wind Farm Extension.
- Harbour Energy: Lead adviser on real estate matters and providing support and advice on property issues relating to the promotion of an NSIP application for the Viking CCS Project.
- Environment Agency: Providing advice and support relating to real estate issues on the promotion of compulsory purchase orders and advising on real estate interests and agreements necessary to deliver the Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme.
- North Somerset Council: Advising on real estate issues and strategies, land interests and acquisitions pertaining to large highways schemes, underpinned by compulsory purchase orders.
- Grand Pier Limited: Advising in connection with the acquisition and subsequent real estate issues relating to the rebuilding and redevelopment of the Grand Pier, Weston-Super-Mare.
- The Crown Estate Commissioners: Advising on the St. James’s portfolio, including the sale and purchase of mixed-use (office and retail) multi-tenanted buildings and dealing with lettings and leasehold management issues across the portfolio.
