Camilla specialises in corporate advice, joint ventures, M&A and private equity, as well as co-operatives, community benefit societies and alternative structures.

She acts for a wide range of UK and international clients, including public and private companies, partnerships, co-ops and private individuals.

She is a core member of the firm's energy and utilities team, which gives her a much deeper understanding of the issues facing businesses operating in this area. She also has particular expertise in community energy.

During 2020 our transactional energy lawyers completed 26 clean M&A deals with an aggregate deal value of over £605m, making us the most active clean energy M&A team over the last 8 years (by deal volume) according to Clean Energy Pipeline’s annual global league tables.

Experience
  • Advising Bristol City Council on its ground-breaking ‘City Leap’ initiative, a project to secure a strategic partner to help Bristol to realise its ambition to become a carbon neutral city by 2030.
  • Advising ERG on its acquisition of a consented Northern Irish wind farm (approx. 45MW) and on its subsequent sale for £163m, as well as on its equity investment into two Scottish wind farms (totalling approx. 200MW), including documenting the joint development arrangements for their build out.
  • Advising Green Investment Group on the acquisition of an initial 187MWh portfolio of battery storage sites from developer Capbal.
  • Advising Gresham House on the acquisition of a number of battery storage sites from a variety of developers and on their subsequent sale to a listed storage fund.
  • Advising Marks and Spencer on establishing M&S Energy Society – a ground-breaking collaboration to fund the installation of solar panels on M&S stores, including on the corporate structuring and public offer which allowed its customers and the wider public to invest into the scheme. This led to the team winning Energy & Infrastructure Team of the Year in 2016.
  • Advising Ripple Energy, the new disruptor energy supplier, on its innovative co-ownership model
  • Advising Ocean Winds on its partnership with Ignitis Group to develop offshore wind projects in the Lithuanian Baltic Sea.
  • Advising funds managed by Octopus Renewables on a number of M&A deals involving biomass, solar, wind and reserve power assets.
  • Advising Osaka Gas on its strategic £20m investment in challenger energy supplier, Igloo Energy.
  • Advising on a wide range of community energy projects including M&A, corporate structuring and equity fundraisings for Westmill Solar, Resilient Energy, Gower Power and Awel Aman Tawe.
