Camilla advises on M&A, joint ventures, equity fundraisings and general corporate matters, as well as specialising in co-operatives, community benefit societies and alternative structures.

She leads our corporate energy practice, and is a core member of the firm’s Energy & Utilities and Infrastructure sector teams. She advises developers, utilities, investors and funders on the full suite of clean energy technologies, as well as on broader net zero and sustainability projects.

During 2023, our transactional energy lawyers completed 57 clean energy M&A deals, with an aggregate deal value of £518 million, cementing the team's position (in independent global league tables) as one of the most active clean energy M&A practices over the last eleven years.

Experience
  • Advising Bristol City Council on its ground-breaking ‘City Leap’ initiative, a project to secure a strategic partner to help Bristol to realise its ambition to become a carbon neutral city by 2030.
  • Advising ERG on its acquisition and JDA of a consented Northern Irish wind farm (approx. 45MW) and on its subsequent sale for £163m, as well as on its equity investment into two Scottish wind farms (totalling approx. 200MW), including documenting the joint development arrangements for their build out.
  • Advising Green Investment Group on offshore wind matters and on M&A and a JDA involving a 187MWh portfolio of battery storage sites from developer Capbal.
  • Advising Gresham House on the acquisition of a number of battery storage sites from a variety of developers, and on their subsequent sale to a listed battery storage fund.
  • Advising Marks and Spencer on M&S Energy Society – a ground-breaking collaboration to fund the installation of solar panels on M&S stores, including on a co-op structuring and public offer which allowed its customers and the wider public to invest into the scheme.
  • Advising Ocean Winds on its partnership with Ignitis Group to develop offshore wind projects in the Lithuanian Baltic Sea.
  • Advising funds managed by Octopus Renewables on multiple M&A deals involving biomass, solar, wind, pumped storage hydro and reserve power assets.
  • Advising Osaka Gas on its strategic £20m investment in challenger energy supplier, Igloo Energy.
  • Advising Ripple Energy, the new disruptor energy supplier, on its innovative co-ownership model.
  • Advising community energy groups and developers on community energy projects involving M&A, JVs, corporate structuring and equity fundraisings.
