About

Edward is a senior private client lawyer with over a decade of experience. He provides UK tax and estate planning advice to a range of international and UK based clients, both individual and institutional.

A significant part of Edward’s work comprises helping individuals and families achieve effective and tax-efficient succession between generations, including by implementing wealth planning structures such as trusts and family investment companies. Many of his clients have international connections and he is experienced in navigating complex cross-border issues.

When clients interact with the UK tax authorities, he advises on filings, responses to HMRC enquiries and voluntary disclosures.

He sits on various panels which liaise with the UK authorities on behalf of the private client industry, including recently feeding into the guidance for the Trust Registration Service.

Edward co-leads the firm’s Family Office sector which assists family offices with all aspects of their UK legal needs. He has particular expertise in dealing with multi-jurisdictional probate and capacity matters and is a contributing author to the Law Society’s Probate Practitioner’s Handbook.

He also advises trustees (both non-UK and UK resident) and is an expert in the application of UK tax law to complex structures, including those settled by non-domiciled individuals.

He was recognised as a “NextGen Leader” by EPrivateClient in both 2023 and 2024.
