Ellen specialises in employment law and has broad experience advising both employers and employees on contentious and non-contentious employment issues. This covers the full lifecycle of the employment relationship, as well as regularly providing employment expertise in connection with transactional matters and TUPE.

She has particular experience in conducting employment tribunal litigation, including in relation to complex discrimination and whistle blowing claims.

Ellen specialises and leads on data protection issues that arise in an employment law context. She is experienced on all aspects of data protection issues that arise in the employment context and has built deep sector knowledge of the legal issues arising from both employment law and data protection.

Experience

  • John Lewis Partnership: Defending against a range of complex Employment Tribunal litigation, including claims for unfair and wrongful dismissal and discrimination.
  • BAE Systems Plc: Providing regular advice to HR on a range of employment law issues for a FTSE 100 defence and security group.
  • Reiss: Providing general HR advice on a variety of employment matters, defending Tribunal claims, and providing tailored employment law and data protection training.
  • Royal Horticultural Society: Providing general HR advice on a variety of employment matters including tailored training on employment matters.
  • Data subject access requests: Assisting several employers with handling and responding to complex data subject access requests from employees or former employees.
  • Corporate transactions: Advising clients in the building, care, energy and hospitality sectors on the employment aspects of corporate transactions.
