Emily is an associate in the Planning and Compulsory Purchase team, and joined Burges Salmon in August 2021 having trained in local government.
She advises landowners, developers and government bodies on a range of planning issues including planning agreements and conditions, and renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
Emily has particular experience advising on judicial review and statutory challenges, and planning applications and appeals, including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, Welsh Developments of National Significance and applications on common land.
Experience
- Bute Energy, RWE, Statkraft and Eco2: Acting for these clients promoting onshore energy parks in the DNS regime in Wales. Advising on EIA, secondary consents including on Common Land, consultation and examination.
- BayWa: Acting for BayWa promoting its Oaklands Farm Solar Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project. Advising on EIA and examination.
- RES: Acting for RES promoting Town and Country Planning and Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.
- Statutory challenges and judicial reviews: Acting for a wide client base ranging from individual developers to local government departments on statutory challenges and judicial reviews.
