Frederick is an associate in the Energy Projects team and advises clients on a range of issues in the energy and utilities sector. This includes advising investors, developers, generators, large energy users, government departments, local authorities and contractors on energy project development, contractual arrangements and regulatory issues, particularly in relation to renewable and clean heat projects.
Experience
- The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero: Advising on the route to market aspects of the Heat Networks Transformation Programme for area-wide delivery of heat networks in heat network zones.
- Heat Network Promoters, Developers and ESCOs: Advising on the full suite of agreements and regulatory considerations for heat network projects.
- Zestec Renewable Energy: Advising Zestec, which is owned by funds managed by Octopus Energy Generation, on its acquisition and investment into Scotland’s largest airport-based solar farm, including on the key power purchase and grid arrangements.
- Solar, Wind and Battery Storage Investors and Developers: Advising on the contractual, grid and regulatory arrangements for solar, wind and battery storage projects.
- Biomass Project Developers and Operators: Advising on the contractual and regulatory arrangements for the development and operation of biomass projects, including heat and power offtake arrangements.
- International Airports: Advising major UK airports on utility supply and private wire network arrangements.
