Jacob is an associate in the Tax, Trusts, and Family team. He advises on a range of private client work, with a particular focus on international elements, including cross-border estate planning for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net worth individuals. Jacob also advises clients as to their residence and domicile status, as well as possible avenues for UK tax planning.

He advises on the creation and management of various asset holding structures, and on the UK tax treatment of offshore trusts and companies. He also has experience advising organisations, trustees, and private individuals on a broad range of charity matters.

Experience

  • A UK government executive agency: Advising on the formation of a charity to assist with providing public access to its vast collection of historic artefacts of culture significance and improve its income stream.
  • A housing charity: Assisting the charity in respect of a merger and assisting with the associated transfer of assets.
  • A community charity: Advising the charity on its obligations and assisting with annual returns, compliance, and insurance-related matters.
  • High-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals: Estate planning for HNW and UHNW individuals with assets in multiple jurisdictions, including tax planning for individuals moving to or from the UK.
  • Trust structures: Assisting clients with the creation, ongoing maintenance and termination of various trust structures.
  • Charity Commission: Preparing and submitting Charity Commission applications.
