Katherine Flower Partner

Katherine is a partner in the Employment Team. She joined Burges Salmon in 2023 after nearly 17 years with a magic circle firm. 

Katherine has a broad employment practice and advises clients across many different sectors, including FTSE 100 companies at board and C-Suite level. 

Katherine advises on a full range of employment law matters and has particular experience advising on the employment aspects of complex mergers and acquisitions, restructures, and board-level exits and appointments. 

Katherine has authored a number of articles and blogs, and appeared on several podcasts. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers' Association. 

Experience gained at a previous firm includes:

• Advising a FTSE 100 grocery retailer on its joint venture for £750m
• Advising a private equity house on its acquisition of a bakery ingredients business across more than ten jurisdictions
• Advising a HM Treasury subsidiary on multiple disposals, including the outsourcing of its mortgage servicing operations and the transfer of 1700 employees
• Advising on the restructuring of a major recycling, resource and waste management company
• Advising on the departures and appointments of board directors for several FTSE 100 companies in the real estate sector
• Advising a FTSE 100 energy company on a wide range of employment issues, including investigations and disciplinary matters in the context of SMCR, complex HR project work and employment issues related to diversity and inclusion
• Advising a global financial services institution in the context of an SFO investigation
• Advising a large petrochemical company on a high-profile trade dispute over proposed changes to the company's pension scheme
