Katie trained at Burges Salmon and qualified into the employment team in 2019.

She advises on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment and HR matters.

Katie has particular experience drafting contractual and policy documentation, resolving employment disputes and defending complex Employment Tribunal litigation for employers within the defence, transport and retail sectors. 

Katie also advises on all aspects of business immigration, including matters relating to sponsor licences and sponsor duties, visa applications and right to work requirements. Katie was recently recognised by the Legal 500 as a Rising Star for her business immigration work.

Katie is a member of the Employment Law Association and the Immigration Law Practitioners Association.


Acting for a major national retailer in employment tribunal litigation to include defending claims of unfair dismissal, breach of contract, whistleblowing and complex discrimination claims.

Day-to-day employment advice on the whole employment cycle, including in relation to disciplinary matters and dismissals and drafting documentation for negotiated exits for a FTSE-100 defence and security group.

Drafting various employment and HR-related contractual and policy documentation for a variety of different businesses.

Advising on other employment matters, including disciplinary and grievances, performance management, ill health capability, policy documentation, changing terms and conditions and negotiated exits.

Providing employment and immigration support in connection with corporate transactions.

Advising clients on all business immigration matters, including sponsor licence applications and sponsor compliance, visa applications and the illegal working regime. 

Advising the Citizens Advice Bureau and the Bristol and Avon Law Clinic on a pro-bono basis.
