Katie Wooller is a senior associate professional support lawyer in our Employment team.
Her responsibilities include keeping the Employment team up to date with legal and market developments, as well as writing legal updates, guidance and articles for our clients as well as for leading HR resources. Katie also supports the team with the adoption and integration of legal technology solutions, including preparing and delivering internal training, and client seminars on employment law topics. Her experience includes supporting lawyers on technical matters and updating legal precendents.
Katie is an active member of the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA) and, since 2021, has been a member of the ELA’s training committee.
With over eight years’ experience prior to becoming a professional support lawyer, Katie advised employers in both the public and private sectors on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment and HR issues. She has particular expertise in advising employers on working time and holiday pay matters, including providing board-level advice on strategies to adopt in light of holiday pay changes. Katie also advised on TUPE projects, restructuring and redundancy exercises, senior employee exits and the defence of complex whistleblowing and discrimination tribunal claims.
Experience
- ELA training committee member: Organising and chairing ELA training sessions on a range of employment law topics. Katie played a leading role on the planning team for the plenary session at the 2024 annual conference.
- Knowledge Unlocked: Worked closely with the firm’s IT, Knowledge Information Services and Project Management teams and external suppliers on the design and successful deployment of a new knowledge management system.
- Document automation: Automated several template documents to enable the team to draft agreements efficiently and cost-effectively.
- ELA training speaker: Presented on the ELA course ‘TUPE: The Law and Practice’.
- Brightmine: Contributing and updating author for leading HR resource, Brightmine, including several TUPE resources and template service agreements.
