About

Laura is a senior associate in the firm’s Planning and Compulsory Purchase team, having joined the firm in 2007. She specialises in providing advise pre- and post-consent on nationally significant infrastructure projects and regeneration projects acting for both developer and local authority clients.

She has particular expertise advising on wind projects, major s106 and highway agreements, compulsory purchase and compensation, Common Land, Town and Village Greens, EIA, and Habitats and Appropriate Assessment.

Laura is a member of the Compulsory Purchase Association and National Infrastructure Planning Association.

She is recognised for her expertise on wind projects, and as a ‘Leading Associate’ in the Legal 500 2025 Edition, having previously been recognised as a ‘Rising Star’ since 2022.

Experience

  • Equinor: Advising on pre and post consent matters relating to the Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon Extensions Offshore Wind Farm Order including construction scenarios strategy, compulsory acquisition, hearings advocacy and change applications.
  • bP and EnBW: Advising on proposed DCO applications for the generation and transmission assets of Morgan Offshore Wind Farm, including the joint DCO application to connect two electrically separate offshore windfarms to the National Grid.
  • RWE (Sofia Offshore Wind Farm): Advising on post consent matters relating to the Teesside A and B Offshore Wind Farm DCO including non-material change applications, marine licence variations and exercise of compulsory acquisition powers.
  • Blackbushe Airport: Advising on planning and common land matters relating to applications to deregister part of a common including representation at a public inquiry and subsequent court hearings relating to the meaning of curtilage.
  • Rugeley Power: Advised in connection with petitioning the House of Commons on HS2 Phase 2a, strategic planning advice and negotiation a complex s106 Agreement to redevelop the former power station site into a housing led mixed use development.
  • Various clients including RWE and RES: Advising on onshore wind farm applications in England and Wales including common land applications.
