Two of our lawyers have been named as 2026 eprivateclient NextGen Leaders.

These accolades recognise trailblazing practitioners and rising stars across private client advisory professions in the UK and UK Crown Dependencies. Those selected have demonstrated top performance, have a strong reputation for their advisory services and an outstanding promotion trajectory.

The recognised individuals are both within our Private Wealth Advisory team. They are:

  • Andrew Kerr, Director: Andrew Kerr is a Director in the Private Wealth team, specialising in complex tax, estate planning, and trusts work for landed estates, farming families, family businesses, and high-net-worth individuals. Admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2017, his expertise spans succession planning, probate, heritage property, and complex land transactions, including SDLT and LTT advice for high-profile clients like The Crown Estate and Oxygen Conservation. Andrew is a full member of both the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the Stamp Taxes Practitioners Group.
  • Helen MacLeod, Senior Associate: Helen MacLeod is a Senior Associate in the Private Client team, specialising in cross-border tax, structuring, and estate planning for international individuals, financial institutions, and trust companies. With a particular focus on clients from Western Europe and South Africa, she advises on residence and domicile matters, offshore trusts, pre-arrival planning, and disclosures to HMRC. Helen is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and a recipient of the prestigious STEP Excellence Award.

“I am delighted to be recognised in this way, but the award is far more a reflection of the fantastic private wealth team at Burges Salmon. This accolade is a testament to the hard work of the team and our shared commitment to delivering the best possible outcomes for our clients.”

Andrew Kerr, Director

“It is great to be recognised with this accolade. Advising international clients means providing clarity amidst highly complex, multi-jurisdictional frameworks. This achievement highlights the exceptional standard of work our private client team produces every day, and I am truly grateful to our clients and colleagues for their continued trust and support.”
