We have been appointed to the Pension Protection Fund’s (PPF) newly formed legal panel structure. Set up in 2005 by the Pensions Act 2004, the PPF protects people across the United Kingdom who are members of defined benefit pension schemes, ensuring they are supported if the employer funding their pension becomes insolvent.
Legal services will be provided across four lots, with Burges Salmon appointed to:
- Lot 1: Legal advisory services to the Board – supporting governance, compliance, HR, commercial contracts, pensions, and risk management; and
- Lot 3: Real estate – providing legal expertise for property acquisitions, disposals, lettings, and estate management.
The appointment recognises our expertise across the Financial Services, Built Environment and Public sectors, and the full service capability we bring to supporting the PPF across employment, commercial, pensions, regulatory and real estate matters.
