There are now only 5 months to go until the 31 October 2026 final connection deadline for pensions dashboards. Approximately 2,600 schemes are required to connect by the deadline and over 70 million records (around 85% of member records in scope) are already connected.
Pensions Dashboards Programme Updates
There was discussion on a recent webinar about phase 1 user testing findings for the MoneyHelper Pensions Dashboard, available here along with a number of questions and answers from the webinar. Testing is continuing with higher volumes of users in phase 2 which began in March and is expected to last for around 9 months.
The PDP’s blog also contains some frequently asked questions and answers.
The PDP has stated that it expects the MoneyHelper Pensions Dashboard to be available to the public in financial year 2027/28 and will provide an update on launch plans around the time of the 31 October 2026 connection deadline.
The PDP has recently published a blog setting out how dashboards fit alongside the wider range of pension guidance and support.
The Pensions Regulator Updates
TPR has launched a regulatory initiative targeting 240 private sector defined benefit and hybrid pension schemes to assess how they are preparing their data ahead of connecting to dashboards. There will be a particular focus on the readiness and accuracy of value data given that it has been found that schemes are less advanced in relation to value data preparations compared with find data. TPR’s press release is available here.
TPR’s latest pensions dashboards guidance is available here.
Actions
Schemes should be reviewing their value data and administration arrangements to ensure that data is recent (within the last 12-13 months), accurate, and can be returned by the administration system within the statutory timescales.
We have designed some helpful products to assist schemes and their sponsors who are navigating the complexities of dashboards connections.
Our pensions dashboards tool is a user-friendly resource designed to digest and summarise the relevant legal requirements, whilst the dashboards checklist sets out the essential steps trustees need to take to ensure compliance.
