Burges Salmon acts for OnPath Energy on NatWest financing to support Scottish-based onshore wind development

We have advised leading UK renewables developer OnPath Energy on a bilateral financing to support the development of its Mill Rig Wind Farm project, a 33.4MW Scottish onshore wind scheme.

NatWest provided project financing for the asset, with the long-term agreement including a term loan and other ancillary facilities to support the project throughout its construction and operational life. Mill Rig Wind Farm, based in South Lanarkshire, will feature some of the UK’s most advanced turbines, maximising energy generation and efficiency and increasing OnPath Energy’s support for Scotland’s ambitious renewable energy goals.

The Burges Salmon team guiding OnPath Energy through the transaction was led by banking and finance partner Victoria Allsopp, with the team also advising on construction matters and the revenue arrangements.

It’s been a pleasure supporting OnPath Energy on the successful financial close of the Mill Rig Wind Farm, a landmark project that stands to benefit the environment and local community and champions Scotland’s onshore wind sector. Our multi-disciplinary expertise across energy finance, construction, and commercial contracts, combined with our one-team approach, enabled us to successfully navigate the complexities of this financing and deliver the best possible outcome for our client. OnPath has an impressive and growing portfolio of projects and we look forward to continuing to work with the team to support its ambitious goals.”

We really enjoy working with Victoria and the team at Burges Salmon and really appreciate their proactive approach and in-depth sector knowledge.”
