Overview

Emily is an Associate in the firm’s Banking & Finance practice.  Emily has a wide range of banking experience including advising both lenders and borrowers in relation to real estate finance, acquisition finance, project finance, renewable energy finance and general corporate lending. Emily also has experience acting on banking transactions which involve distressed assets, distressed borrowers, and debt restructurings.

Within the real estate finance sector, Emily has experience advising on the financing of development and investment grade commercial property, hotels financings and housing development financings. Within the renewable energy sector, Emily has experience advising on the financing of solar projects, onshore wind projects and battery energy storage projects.  

Emily has significant experience on complex banking transactions. Emily also regularly leads multi-jurisdictional teams on transactions with international elements.

Experience
  • Advised Assent, a UK-wide Corporate Building Control Approved Inspector, on its acquisition of the Clarke Banks Group, a specialist fire engineering and building control Approved Inspector.
  • Advised the Facility for Energy Inclusion on pioneering African solar mini-grid financing, to finance the construction of 60 solar mini-grids in Zambia, connecting over 40,000 people to electricity for the first time.
  • Advised Blackfinch Property on a loan to fund the acquisition and restoration of a large area of land in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.
  • Advised Craigard Care Limited and its joint administrators from FRP Advisory on the pre-pack sales of Craigard Care’s business and assets, as operated from three care homes based in the North East of Scotland.
