Overview

Briony is a senior associate within the firm's Corporate Finance team. She has a particular focus on the Energy and Infrastructure sector, and advises clients within the Energy, Consumer, Infrastructure and Tech fields.

Briony has acted on a variety of corporate matters including equity investments, mergers and acquisitions and group restructuring. She works with a range of public and private companies, individuals and institutions across the UK and on cross-border transactions.

During 2023, our transactional energy lawyers completed 57 clean energy M&A deals, with an aggregate deal value of £518 million, cementing the team’s position (in independent global league tables) as one of the most active clean energy M&A practices over the last eleven years.

Experience
  • Advising Gresham House on the acquisition of a number of battery storage sites from a variety of developers, and on their subsequent sale to a listed battery storage fund.
  • Advising Integrum Renewable Energy on a cornerstone £150m investment by Omnes Capital and the subsequent acquisition of a 78 MW co-located solar and battery project.
  • Advising the founders and shareholders of transportation management software solutions provider Paragon Software Systems, on the sale of the company to Aptean.
  • Advising digital wealth management business Embark on various equity fundraises and M&A transactions over the years, including the £390m sale of the Group to Lloyds.
  • Advising Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust on the acquisition of a ready-to-build solar PV project in Cambridgeshire, with development opportunities for a battery storage asset on site.
  • Advising listed fund Atrato Partners on the acquisition of commercial rooftop and ground-mount solar PV projects.
  • Advising Ripple Energy, the disruptor energy supplier, on its innovative co-ownership model.
  • Advising the shareholders of Power Electrics Generators on the sale of the business to generator specialist DTGen.
