Maelor James Associate

Maelor is an associate in the Planning and Compulsory Purchase team having trained and qualified with the firm in September 2019.

Maelor has experience advising on a range of matters relating to nationally significant infrastructure projects, compulsory purchase orders, highways act orders, major planning applications and infrastructure agreements. He has advised on consenting offshore and onshore energy projects including wind and solar, highways schemes and other infrastructure projects. He also has experience advising on contentious matters including planning appeals and judicial review claims.

• Advising RWE on obtaining a development consent order and marine licences for the Awel y Mor offshore wind farm.
• Advising the Environment Agency on a compulsory purchase order application for the Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme.
• Advising National Highways on highways act orders and development consent orders relating to highways schemes in Kent and Gloucestershire.
• Advising Statera Energy in their application for a development consent order for a flexible generation plant in Essex.
• Advising a major energy company in objecting to development consent orders in relation to projects in Humberside.
• Advising various energy developers in relation to developments of national significance in Wales.
• Advising a developer on a major planning application in Wales for a new business district and transport hub.
• Advising a mineral landowner in relation to an arbitration with statutory undertakers concerning the steralisation of mineral reserves.
