About
Martin is a consultant in the technology team advising on a variety of technology and commercial transactions from major technology change programmes, cloud services projects, e-commerce solutions, software and technology development projects, outsourcing, technology and content licensing, collaborations and co-developments, cyber security and technology innovation.
He has a passionate interest in technology generally and loves exploring ways in which technology can enhance and change clients’ businesses.
Martin has advised clients on technology matters for over 20 years (including as a leader of commercial / technology practice for over 10 years) and is able to provide a wealth of experience not only on the legal aspects of a transaction but also on best practice and strategy when embarking on a technology project.
He has acted for clients ranging from start-ups to multinationals and central / local Government across a number of sectors including financial services, healthcare, defence and the emergency services, mobile telecommunications, media, transport, retail and energy (renewable and traditional), cloud and pure tech.
He has been ranked by Chambers in ‘Band 1’ for Information Technology in the South West and as a ‘Leading Partner/Individual’ in Legal 500 for a number of years.

- Large Retail Multinational: Advising an international food / beverage company on its procurement of a SaaS customer insight platform (including drafting / negotiation of the contractual documentation and assistance with technical schedules.
- UK Healthcare Trust: Supporting a major UK Healthcare Trust on its suite of terms supporting the implementation of an AI App market place for app developers / Healthcare Trusts to interact and help Trusts implement AI within their functions.
- International Energy Provider: Advising on IP and Technology licensing aspects for new nuclear technology from a major international technology vendor for an International Energy Provider deploying the technology in Europe.
- Tertiary Education Provider: Advising a major UK College on the establishment / renewal of a consortium of 19 private sector / educational bodies to provide courses to students as part of the Government’s Institute of Technology initiative.
- AI Provider (Utilities): Acting for international technology business supplying AI solutions to water companies throughout the world used to identify, detect and remedy leakage issues from water pipelines.
- International Cloud Service Provider: Advising major cloud service provider on various contracts with a variety of customers for deployment of their cloud services solutions.
