Niall is an associate in the corporate finance team, based in the firm's Edinburgh office, who specialises in mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, corporate structuring and commercial contracts.

He has advised clients in a broad range of sectors including renewable energy, technology and food and drink. Niall has undertaken secondments to a UK wind energy developer and a global drinks company.

  • Acted for the majority shareholders of BSW Timber, the UK's largest integrated forestry business, on the disposal of the company to Endless LLP
  • Acted for Atlas Hotels in its purchase of the Holiday Inn Edinburgh West and the hotel's trading business
  • Advising William Grant & Sons on various global distribution and supply agreements and other commercial agreements
  • Acted for Drinks21 on a debt for equity investment by a UK warehousing company
  • Acted for a UK developer on the acquisition of a wind farm project in Scotland
  • Acted for Forsa Energy on the sale of its Scottish onshore wind business including a portfolio of onshore wind projects
  • Acted for Inverleith LLP on its partial acquisition of and investment in Montezuma's Chocolates
  • Acted for Scottish entrepreneur Simon Howie's corporate vehicle Strata International Group on the disposals of Thrislington Cubicles, Mermaid Panels and Shore Laminates
  • Acted for the Scottish Investment Bank on its follow on equity investments into various Scottish technology companies
  • Acted for a UK property fund on its incorporation, funding and the corporate aspects of two Scottish property acquisitions
