Overview

Niall is an associate in the corporate finance team, based in the firm's Edinburgh office, who specialises in mergers and acquisitions, equity investments, corporate structuring and commercial contracts.

He has advised clients in a broad range of sectors including technology, renewable energy, hospitality and food and drink. Niall has undertaken secondments to a UK wind energy developer and a global drinks company.

  • Acted for Embark Group on its £390 million sale of the business to Lloyds Banking Group
  • Acted for the majority shareholders of BSW Timber, the UK's largest integrated forestry business, on the disposal of the company to Endless LLP
  • Acted for Atlas Hotels on its acquisitions of the Holiday Inn Edinburgh West, the Hampton by Hilton Birmingham Jewellery Quarter, the Holiday Inn Express Birmingham Snowhill and the portfolio of six Scottish hotels owned by Chardon Hotels
  • Acted for Brookfield Renewable UK in its long term joint venture with Cambridge Power to develop a portfolio of UK solar and battery storage projects
  • Acted for the shareholders of FlightScope on the sale of the company to IMG Arena, a subsidiary of Endeavour
  • Acted for Forsa Energy on the sale of its Scottish onshore wind business including a portfolio of onshore wind projects and on the sale of its UK gas peaking business to Tiger Infrastructure Partners
  • Acted for BayWa r.e. UK on the acquisitions of Dalquhandy Wind Farm and Broken Cross Wind Farm from Brockwell Energy and on the acquisition of High Constellation Wind Farm from Blue Energy
  • Acted for Reevoy Capital from its incorporation through three fundraising rounds led by investors such as Stellaris Ventures, Better Capital, 9Unicorns and Venture Catalysts
  • Acted for Inverleith LLP on its partial acquisition of and investment in Montezuma's Chocolates
  • Acted for Scottish entrepreneur Simon Howie's corporate vehicle Strata International Group on the disposals of Thrislington Cubicles, Mermaid Panels and Shore Laminates
  • Acted for the Scottish Investment Bank on its follow on equity investments into various Scottish technology companies
  • Acted for the Singapore Stock Exchange on the UK aspects of its $125 million acquisition of MaxxTrader, an FX trading platform, from FlexTrade Systems
