About
Robert is a partner in our Built Environment sector group, heading up the delivery of Scottish real estate legal services from our Edinburgh office. He acts for UK-based and international developers, investors and lenders on transactions across the UK, including cross border/international deals with a Scottish element.
He has a broad commercial practice and has been involved in almost every aspect of commercial property from leasing, mixed use development, investment acquisitions and disposals and real estate finance, across all asset classes.
With a particular focus on the hospitality and leisure sectors, Robert has represented owners, operators, and lenders on some of the most significant hotel deals in Scotland and is regularly praised for his commercial knowledge and understanding of the market. On the development front, he has considerable experience of joint venture, partnership and collaboration agreements and in working on forward fund and strip lease structures.
Robert is dual qualified in Scotland and England & Wales.
Experience
- Pandox AB: Advising on the £49 million acquisition of, and its financing of, DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre.
- West Ranga Property Group: Advising on their portfolio of development and investment assets throughout the UK.
- Henderson Park: Advising on the acquisition of the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh and their subsequent refinancing of this asset and other assets in their Scottish hotels portfolio.
