We have advised Sullivan Street Partners portfolio company, Ancora Group on the acquisition of Red7Marine.
Sullivan Street Partners, a UK-based private equity firm specialising in mid-market buy-outs, has supported Ancora Group in completing its acquisition of Red7Marine, a UK marine infrastructure and engineering specialist.
Ancora Group is an integrated group of marine contractors delivering infrastructure and coastal defence solutions across the UK. The acquisition marks its first add-on since Sullivan Street’s investment in March 2025 and represents a significant step in building a nationwide, self-delivering marine services platform.
The transaction strengthens Ancora Group’s technical capability and geographic reach, enhancing its ability to deliver complex marine infrastructure projects and supporting growing demand for resilient coastal and offshore infrastructure.
The team advising Ancora Group comprised partner Mark Shepherd and Senior Associate Martin Davidson as well as Associate Eleanor Furlong and Solicitor Sam Booth from the Corporate and M&A team, together with partner Rachael Ruane and Associate Adrienne Fisher from the Banking and Finance team.
“We are pleased to support this important acquisition for Ancora Group, which represents a clear step forward in our strategy to build a national group of marine contractors with specialist capabilities. We are also grateful to the team at Burges Salmon for their support and expertise throughout the transaction.”
Layton Tamberlin, Managing Partner, Sullivan Street Partners
“This transaction reflects the continued drive to build scale and technical capability in the marine infrastructure sector. We are delighted to have supported Ancora Group on this strategic acquisition, which positions it strongly for future growth.”
Mark Shepherd, Partner
This transaction highlights continued momentum in the marine infrastructure sector, as investors back platform-building strategies to meet rising demand driven by climate resilience, coastal protection and energy transition projects. For clients, it underlines the increasing importance of scale, specialist capability and integrated delivery models in securing and delivering complex infrastructure work.
