About

Greg is a senior associate in the firm’s Projects team and specialises in advising projects in the circular economy sector including heat networks, waste management and waste to “X” technologies (including SAF and EfW) and AD and biomass plants.

He has advised businesses, sponsors and lenders on the acquisition and disposal of existing asset portfolios, the investment in first of a kind technology as well as the negotiation of the contractual documentation across the supply chain.

He also specialises in public procurement, advising public sector and utility clients (including central and local government, universities, water and energy utilities) on procurement strategy, risk management and document development. He has advised bidders on how to maximise their chances of success by supporting the development of their bid strategy and commercial offering. We also help bidders to respond to errors in the process, advising on legal challenge.

Greg’s cross-area specialism allows him to provide helpful synergies for clients who have a circular economy project is driven by or involves the public sector.

Experience

  • DESNZ: Advising on development of the commercial delivery models and competitive tendering process for heat network zoning, the Zones Regulations, template materials and associated guidance.
  • Old Oak & Park Royal Development Corporation: Advising on contractual and procurement documentation for its ambient loop heat network using heat recovered from several large data centres to serve buildings within a 650+ hectare site in west London.
  • Fulcrum Bioenergy Limited: Advising on its UK waste to SAF project and Firefly on its UK sludge to aviation fuel project, including SAF offtakes, feedstock supply, project structuring, and renewable energy benefits regime.
  • Project work: Leading projects due diligence and providing support in relation to acquisitions for ENGIE’s anaerobic digestion as well as advising Biogen and Tilbury Green Power on operational matters for their respective AD and biomass plants.
  • Transport for London: Advising on both the contractual and procurement aspects of its procurement to select a private sector generator for a back-to-back corporate PPA to power the London Underground using renewable electricity.
  • Various companies: Advising companies across the “waste to x” supply chain on their contractual arrangements on fuel supply and offtake arrangements.
