About
Suzanna is head of our Private Wealth sector team. She is a highly experienced private client partner, specialising in tax, trusts, immigration and estate planning for international clients (both UK resident and non-resident).
She provides tax advice to a wide range of clients, from high net worth individuals to leading private banks and other financial institutions, and regularly advises clients considering moving to the UK on their immigration options alongside the tax implications of becoming resident.
Suzanna provides trust advice to numerous international trust companies and individuals, including drafting trust documentation, advising on general trust law issues and advising on policy documentation.
She regularly speaks at conferences and seminars both in the UK and overseas. She was named in the 2024 eprivateclient ’50 Most Influential’ list that highlights the top private client practitioners in the UK and globally.
Experience
- Non-UK resident ultra high net worth individual: Advising on general estate planning, including the creation of numerous trust structures and the drafting of complex Wills to deal with assets in a wide range of jurisdictions.
- Non-UK resident family: Advising on their immigration options and on the creation of suitable asset holding structures prior to their move to the UK, taking into account the issues arising from wider family’s residence in multiple jurisdictions.
- UK resident ultra high net worth family: Advising on their objective to onshore an offshore trust structure with approximately £200 million of assets in order to bring it within the UK tax net.
- Offshore trust company: Advising on trust and tax issues arising from offshore structures, in light of the UK residence of the settlor and the illiquid nature of a significant proportion of the trust funds, with holdings in art and real estate.
- Ultra high net worth client Advising on an HMRC enquiry into his UK tax position, including responding to queries on structures containing over £100 million of assets.
- US couple living in the UK: Advising on their estate planning, including Wills, lasting powers of attorney and the potential implications of creating and funding trust structures.
