We have advised Dublin-based growth-focused private equity firm Causeway Capital on its investment into leading British bike brand Whyte Bikes which it has acquired from Cairngorm Capital.

The deal strengthens Whyte Bikes’ ability to drive ongoing innovation, service its dealer base and collaborate with key suppliers and partners. With backing from Causeway, Whyte Bikes will also boost its footprint with ambitious plans to expand in continental Europe and worldwide.

The Burges Salmon team advising Causeway was led by director Nick Middleton, partner Rachael Ruane and solicitor Alice Burns, with our firm acting on the banking and finance aspects of the acquisition.

“We are pleased to support Causeway Capital on this strategic investment. Our team’s experience in accelerated acquisitions of this nature enabled us to deliver tailored advice that helped bring this exciting deal to completion.”

“Wellness and outdoor recreation show strong long-term growth and we are delighted to use the first investment from Causeway Capital Partners II LP to back the Whyte team. Burges Salmon’s expertise and collaborative approach were instrumental in ensuring a smooth and efficient deal process.”
