We have guided renewable energy developer, Aura Power, through another major milestone in the growth of its operations business, with the firm advising on the financing for the Grimsby solar farm, Aura Power’s third UK solar project.
The senior debt facility made available by Coöperatieve Rabobank U.A (Rabobank), the Dutch multinational sustainable cooperative bank, enables Aura Power to deliver on its ambition to build out its 0.5 GWp pipeline of UK solar assets by 2028 and brings its construction portfolio to a total of 190 MWp. With a target for energisation planned for early 2026, the Grimsby project, based in Lincolnshire, will feature a single-axis tracking system, carefully considered landscaping and deliver an impressive 71% biodiversity net gain.
Having completed the successful financing for Aura Power’s Kemble and Burtree Lane sites in the past seven months, Burges Salmon’s Banking and Finance team continued to be led by partner Stuart McMillan, senior associate Elin Blundell, associate Emily Cranston and trainee solicitors Eva Hunter and Zuzana Choteborska.
“It’s been a pleasure to continue working with Aura Power as it expands its solar portfolio in the UK with high quality projects that contribute to national net zero targets, drive the UK solar transformation and enhance local biodiversity. Our experience advising a broad range of domestic and international lenders and borrowers on UK-based energy finance projects mean we were well positioned to facilitate a smooth completion for our client.”
Emily Cranston, associate
