Independent UK law firm Burges Salmon is pleased to announce the re-launch of ResiCheck, its innovative tax app designed to help individuals determine whether they are tax-resident in the UK.
Developed in-house by Burges Salmon’s Private Wealth team, with support from the firm’s Innovation team, ResiCheck was originally launched in 2022 as a mobile-app, available to clients via Apple or Google stores. With increased demand, Burges Salmon has now re-purposed ResiCheck as a web-based tool, that is now freely available and confirms a person’s UK tax-residence status under the Statutory Residence Test, enabling users to assess their status and provide guidance on whether they are deemed as resident for UK tax purposes. At their fingertips, users get instant results to test past residence for completed tax years, plan future tax-residence and access easy-to-follow flow chart and glossary of terms, with all information also being emailed directly to the user.
“With last year’s changes to the UK tax landscape, including the overhaul of the UK non-dom regime and significant reforms to how internationally mobile individuals and their structures are taxed, the Statutory Residence Test is poised to take a central role and we’re pleased to bring this app to a wider market supporting individuals across the UK who may be feeling confused or worried about the changes and wondering what they should be doing next.”
